New Series of High-performance Cooling Aggregates
In situations where significant thermal power dissipation is required and power is measured in kilowatts rather than watts, e.g. converters or switchboards, passive high performance heatsinks tend to struggle to remove sufficient energy. This is compounded by the sheer weight and size of the heatsink.
Fischer Elektronik has designed the new LA 28-33 series to address this very problem. This innovative design is based around an advanced inner fin structure, which is formed of extruded sections soldered together. The internal geometry of the extrusions optimises the air flow by acting as enclosed internal hollow fins, which are further enhanced by a separator plate, which allow for additional heat-flow through direct metal-to-metal contact.
Powerful axial fans are specifically chosen to provide additional performance benefits, both in air-flow volumes and dynamic pressure. However, if required, different fans can be provided.
The overall design features precisely milled face-plates, providing excellent component mounting surfaces as well as providing excellent heat-spreading. The design is available with an additional air-flow chamber, which improves the air flow.
As with most Fischer products, the LA28-33 Cooling Aggregates series offers considerable choice, with six different width options and in five standard lengths (100mm to 300mm, although any length up to 1m can be accommodated), as well as numerous surface finishes and coatings if required. Optionally, the LA28-33 series can be drilled or machined to customer's drawing.
