Product Information
The 840-0L smart card connector accepts any smart or chip card according to the ISO format. The smart card connects on the ISO 8 pins via a landing slider which reduces the wear on the pins. The pins themselves are shaped in a half sphere and are additionally secured by a pin protection, making them more robust and allows the connector to be resistant against vandalism. In many cases, smart card connectors are exposed to rough usage through either foreign objects or falsely inserted cards.
Adding to the robustness of the connector, it is equipped with reinforced side walls and a debris slot in the backwall to withstand 500,000 cycles in even challenging environments. The 840-0L smart card connector comes with an integrated ESD deflector, which discharges any electromagnetically loaded cards before they hit the ISO8 pins.
In order to achieve a PCI certification, the 840-0L connector can be combined with Hopt’s 825 anti-tamper secure cover.
